Intuit announced today that they will be “re-engineering” Quicken for Mac 2007 so that it will work with Apple’s latest OS version, OSX Lion. A note was sent out from Aaron Forth, Intuit GM of the Personal Finance Group, stating that Intuit has not always delivered on their promise that they will provide the best products for Mac customers. In addition to the new release, Intuit is also adding to their dedicated Mac team to focus on bring their products for Apple products up to par and provide better support. Intuit has posted a short FAQ where Mac Quicken users can get answers to common questions, as well as sign up the receive updates for the aforementioned new version of Quicken for Mac.

This is good news for all of the Quicken users out there, including myself. I recently started using Mint.com due to the lack of support for OSX Lion, but I will be tempted to switch back to the deeper featured Quicken product once they release a Lion compatible version.
